The 14th International Conference on Management Science and Engineering Management (ICMSEM), organized by International Society of Management Science and Engineering Management (ISMSEM) and co-organized by Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova(ASEM) and Sichuan University, was held online from Jul. 31 to Aug. 1, 2020.
u Opening Ceremony and Award
The doctor of ASEM, Prof. Nina Roscovan hosted the opening ceremony of the 14th ICMSEM on Jul. 31, 2020, at 09:00 am (Moldova time). On behalf of the co-organizers, President of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova Prof. Ion Tighineanu gave the warm welcomes to the university and most sincere wishes for a successful meeting.
The general chair and the president of ISMSEM, Prof. Dr. Dr. Jiuping Xu at Sichuan University, presented the sincere appreciation to the co-organizers for their perfect work, the warm welcome to all conference participants, and a brief introduction to the ICMSEM series.
The 2020 Advancement Prize for MSEM was also awarded during the opening ceremony. The prizes were rigorously selected from the recognized 122 full papers as valid entries from 627 submissions by 18 jury board consisting of Pakistan Uzbekistan Japan Istanbul Moldova Canada Turkey Azerbaijan USA Spain UK Thailand Russia Iran Romania Malaysia and Morocco. It was observed that some of the submissions have a team of researchers from both developed as well as developing countries.
Scientific Journal Report was announced by Prof. Ziqiang Zeng at the end of opening ceremony. It focuses on management science in engineering to support the Authors to easily identify the most suitable journal; help the Editors to propose ways to improve journal impact and evaluate the Journals not only based on impact factor but also developing comprehensive index.

u Parallel Sessions
This conference included 9 parallel sessions, wherein scholars from Sichuan University and other international institutes contribute their 10-15 minutes presentations. All sessions were well attended with periods of intensive after presentation exchanges, an indication of the scientific interest in the various developments and trends of optimization, data mining and related fields of modern OR in the management science and engineering management sector.
u Forum
This conference also included forum focusing on “Development on Management Science in Engineering 2019” on Jul. 31.
At the forum, Prof. Ziqiang Zeng presented a Scientific journal report announcement entitled “Development on Management Science in Engineering 2019: Perspectives from Scientific Journal Report.” The report mainly covers seven engineering domains, including 498 related journals are discussed. Four indicators, such as impact factor (IF), 5-year IF, eigenfactor score, and article influence score, are employed to develop a journal evaluation method. The changes and trends of the number of journals in different engineering domains are analyzed based on the data from 2017 to 2019.
Then, experts in various fields offer their opinions and promote topics about their areas of interest for discussion.
Finally, questions from the audience were discussed by all the editors.
All talks were well discussed in detail with workshop attendees, who came from China, the USA, Japan, Azerbaijan and Australia and so on.
u Conference Proceedings
The conference proceedings were published as a Springer Proceedings Book with ISBN. This proceedings volume includes the full papers of the communications presented at the conference, which underwent a peer refereeing process
